I feel like this commercial stands out from all kinds of youtube videos because to convince people that they've got an assortment food instead of offering only pizza, Pizza Hut made the man order a burger in the first place in the purpose to make fun of it. But he failed, since Pizza Hut was better prepared to welcome people who are more interested in burgers than pizzas!
However, the move that Pizza Hut made seems hilarious. Think of its name! Pizza Hut, why would it sell burgers along with pizzas when we already have tons of burger's place including Burger King, although i'm confident that Burger King's selling pizzas too or will be in the future.
I figured it's one conspicuous trait in the culture we live with today, that every store, restaurant and even every single electrical product(like smart phones)is trying to send a signal, that it has included everything one demands to the consumers. The products are losing their uniqueness, instead, they are complying with each other. Is it because everyone believes that the best is the one that got the most? Or is it that people are losing their own preferences but compromise with the main buying tendency to fit in a community?
It seems like sort of a weak advertisement to me, too. The way the people laugh at the beginning seems to me to be mocking Pizza Hut--and the mockery doesn't really get solved by the appearance of the cheeseburgers. The whole ad seems a bit like a parody to me, in fact.
